Gaara

Gaara had a demon trapped inside him when he was young. His father ordered it upon him as an experiment, and sacrafised Gaara's mother to do so. Gaara became isolated, and couldn't sleep, or Shukaku (the demon) would consume him. The black rings around his eyes come from the demon. Gaara kills people who doubt him, and it feeds his chakra. The red mark on his forehead means 'A Demon's Love For Himself'.

Chunin Exam part 2:

In the second part of the Chunin exam, Gaara is seen fighting a guy with umbrellas. The umbrella guy throws them up in the air and they spin around and spikes shoot out from them. They swirl around and hit Gaara. The dust clears and Gaara is seen with his sand gaurding him. He uses Sand Coffin, and then Sand Funeral on the guy, and then on his teammates. (The Umbrella guy's teammates!)

Chunin Exam part 3:

During part three of the exam, Gaara is to fight Rock Lee. Rock Lee punches and kicks at the sand, but is a little too slow each time. He uses his Hidden Leaf and cracks Gaara's sand armour. Gaara throws Lee around for a while and then Lee opens five of his chakra gates. He hits Gaara with full force, but the impact is lessened when Gaara lands on his sand. Gaara ends the fight with Sand Coffin and Sand Funeral on Lee's arm and leg.
